Readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine voted Regent Seven Seas Cruises® “#1 Large-Ship Cruise Line” in the publication’s 19th annual Readers’ Choice Awards poll. With a score of 92.4, Regent Seven Seas Cruises edged out runner-up Crystal Cruises and third-place Disney.More than 21,000 readers participated in this year’s poll, ranking the world’s best cruise lines according to activities/facilities, cabins, crew/service, design/layout, food/dining and itineraries.
“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by readers of Condé Nast Traveler, among the most discerning travelers in the world,” remarked Mark Conroy, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Regent Hotels & Resorts, accepting the award at a ceremony yesterday. “We are particularly pleased to receive this recognition now, having just reached a vital crossroads for Regent - the first-ever union of a luxury hotel and cruise brand. We will continue to seek new ways to delight our guests in the years to come, both at sea and on land,” said Conroy.
Regent’s fleet of six-star luxury vessels features some of the highest space-per-guest and crew-per-guest ratios at sea, calling on 300 ports worldwide on all seven continents. Each of the four ships, including its two large ships, the 700-guest, all-suite, all-balcony Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager, are undergoing multi-million dollar upgrades and enhancements as part of the cruise line’s re-branding.
The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, one of the highest honors in the travel industry, celebrate the best-of-the-best in hotels, airlines, resorts, cruise lines, cities, and islands and are derived from the largest independent poll of consumer preferences, second only to the U.S. Census. Complete results of the awards can be found in the November 2006 issue.
